Prof. Xiaogang Liu

Wuhan University of Technology, China


Profile: Prof. Xiaogang Liu acquired his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Queensland, Australia, and he is now a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Mechanical engineering and Instrument Science and Technology at the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Wuhan University of Technology. He has chaired two scientific research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and his academic outputs include academic papers, invention patents and software copyrights in the fields of Intelligent Manufacturing, Contact Mechanics, Mechanical Vibration and Electromechanical Control. As the leader of a provincial teaching and research project about mechanical manufacturing, he summarised these academic outputs into monographs to integrate research and education, and was recognised as Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Currently, he is an assessment expert of the national Natural Science Foundation of China, an assessment expert of China Scholarship Council, a senior member of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, an expert of the high-tech industry in Wuhan, and was awarded the “T A Stewart-Dyer Prize/Frederick Harvey Trevithick Prize” by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in London.

Assoc. Prof. Weimin Huang

School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore


Profile: Prof. Wei Min Huang is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He has over 18 years of experience on shape memory materials and technologies. He has published two books (Thin Film Shape Memory Alloys [Cambridge University Press, 2009]; Polyurethane Shape Memory Polymers [CRC, 2011]) and over 170 papers in journals, such as Drug Delivery Review and Materials Today, etc, and has been invited to review manuscripts from over 180 international journals and proposals from American Chemical Society etc. He is currently on the editorial board of over a dozen of journals.

Prof. Jinping Liu

Hunan Normal University, China


Profile: Liu Jinping is a professor at the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Hunan Normal University. He has been engaged in the research on intelligent monitoring, modeling and optimal control of complex industrial processes for a long time, and has developed several sets of related intelligent monitoring systems, which have been successfully applied to complex industrial processes such as lead-zinc flotation process and iron and steel smelting process, with remarkable economic benefits. He presided over 2 projects of National Natural Science Foundation, 1 project of Hunan Natural Science Foundation, 1 key project of National Natural Science Foundation (Guangdong Joint Fund) and 1 general project of National Natural Science Foundation in cooperation with other units. He has published more than 40 papers in international SCI journals, more than 20 papers in domestic journals such as acta automatica sinica, China Science: Information Science and Journal of Electronics, applied for more than 20 national invention patents, and granted 8 patents.

Prof. Chenglin Liu

Jiangnan University, China


Profile: Cheng-Lin Liu received his Ph.D. degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering from Southeast University, China in 2009. He is currently a full professor and a doctoral supervisor at Department of Automation, School of IOT Engineering, Jiangnan University. He is a IEEE senior member.He held some visiting positions at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and Osaka Metropolitan University, Japan. His current research interests include coordination control of multi-robot systems, iterative learning control and nonlinear control. He presided over three projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one project from Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province, and received the Six Talent Peaks Project in Jiangsu Province. He has published two books and more than 150 technical papers.

Prof. Zongmin Ma

North University of China, China

Biography: Ma Zongmin, professor and doctoral supervisor of North Central University. Executive director of the Quantum Sensing and Precision Measurement Branch of China Instrument Society, winner of the 2021 Shanxi Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund, outstanding young academic leader in Shanxi Province, project evaluation expert of the National Defense Science and Industry Bureau, and key research and development plan project meeting evaluation expert of the Ministry of Science and Technology , experts of the general group of key special projects for the development of major scientific instruments and equipment of the Ministry of Science and Technology, etc.

Prof. Duc Truong Pham

University of Birmingham, UK

Biography: Duc Truong Pham has made wide-ranging contributions to the theory and practice of mechanical, manufacturing and systems engineering. His academic output includes more than 500 technical papers and 15 books. He has supervised over 100 PhD theses to completion. He has won in excess of £30M in external research grants and contracts. In addition to pursuing and leading research, he has also been very active with knowledge transfer to industry, applying the results of his work to help multinational companies and SMEs to generate wealth and create and safeguard jobs. He has lectured extensively abroad on his research and has acted as a consultant to several major companies. He was Professeur Invité at École Centrale de Paris, Consulting Professor at HUST (China), Erskine Visiting Fellow at the University of Canterbury (New Zealand), Visiting Professor at the Université Paul Verlaine (France) and Visiting Professor at King Saud University (Saudi Arabia).  He is currently a Strategic Scientist at Wuhan University of Technology.He is the recipient of several prizes including the Sir Joseph Whitworth prize awarded by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in 1996 and 2000 and the Institution's Thomas Stephens Group Prize in 2001 and 2003 and Donald Julius Groen Prize in 2004, and the 5th ICMR Best Paper Prize in 2007.

Assoc. Prof. Guomin Luo

Beijing Jiaotong University, China

Biography: Luo Guomin is an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Electrical Engineering, Beijing Jiaotong University. She has been engaged in the research of power system transient signal analysis and processing for a long time. The research fields include power system online monitoring, transient signal detection and analysis, signal processing, denoising, time-frequency analysis, line protection, fault location, and artificial intelligence technology in power system applications, etc. She is the Excellent reviewer of "Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering" and "Power Grid Technology", member of the Artificial Intelligence Special Committee of the Electrical Engineering Society, reviewer of IEEE Sensors, IEEE Access, IET S M&T and other journals in the past five years. Presided over and participated in the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Fund. She has more than 10 projects such as 863 Program, National Key R&D Program, etc., and has published more than 30 papers in international and domestic journals and conferences.

Dr.Marco Castellani

University of Birmingham, UK

Biography: Marco Castellani is lecturer at the School of Mechanical Engineering. He has done research for almost twenty years in a broad interdisciplinary area encompassing engineering, biology, and computer science. He has worked on a wide range of application areas including motor control, remote sensing, pattern recognition, optimisation, systems modelling, natural language processing, and ecological modelling. He has published over 40 research papers in scientific journals and international conferences.
